R&D and Product Development Assistant

About the role

We're constantly improving our products, and we're looking for a hands-on R&D and Product Development Assistant to support our engineering and product teams as we research, prototype, test, and launch new security solutions. This role is based at our R&D facility (2241 Building B). What you'll do: • Support engineering and product teams across the full development cycle — from research to prototyping, testing, and launch • Research new components, technologies, suppliers, and competitor products • Help build, assemble, and test prototypes in the lab and in the field • Run product tests, record results, and document findings clearly • Maintain organized records: BOMs, spec sheets, test logs, design notes, and documentation • Assist with sourcing parts, tracking samples, and coordinating with vendors • Help prepare product specs, manuals, and internal documentation • Support quality checks and troubleshooting on new and existing products Why Sharpvue: • Hands-on experience across real product development in a fast-growing security company • Wide-ranging role with exposure to engineering, sourcing, testing, and product strategy • A great launchpad to grow into engineering, product, or operations roles • Competitive pay and benefits

What we're looking for

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Comfortable working with hardware — tools, electronics, assembly, and testing • Good written and verbal communication; able to document work clearly • Curious, proactive, and eager to learn • Comfortable with spreadsheets and basic technical software Nice to have: • Familiarity with cameras, security/surveillance systems, electronics, or solar/battery power • Basic understanding of schematics, CAD, or technical drawings • Experience with prototyping tools or lab equipment
