Director of Finance
Chapin, South Carolina · Full-time
About the role
Sharpvue is hiring a Director of Finance — a strategic and operational leader responsible for building, scaling, and driving the financial engine of the business. This role goes beyond traditional accounting: it owns financial visibility, capital strategy, and operational performance across manufacturing, field operations, and recurring revenue streams.
You will partner directly with executive leadership to translate financial data into decisions that drive growth, efficiency, and profitability. This role requires a hands-on leader who can operate at both a high strategic level and deep in the numbers.
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
—— WHAT YOU'LL OWN ——
Financial Leadership & Strategy
• Partner with executive leadership to shape and execute company-wide financial strategy
• Deliver actionable insights that drive profitability, pricing, and operational decisions
• Build financial frameworks that support scaling production, deployments, and service operations
• Support strategic initiatives including new product lines, market expansion, and capital investments
Financial Reporting & Visibility
• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting with accuracy, speed, and clarity
• Deliver executive-level reporting that ties financial performance to operational KPIs
• Build dashboards and reporting that provide real-time visibility into business health
• Lead variance analysis and identify root causes, not just report numbers
Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
• Lead company-wide budgeting and rolling forecast processes
• Build and maintain dynamic financial models
• Drive accountability across departments for budget adherence and performance
Cash Flow & Capital Management
• Own cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and liquidity planning
• Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, and capital allocation
• Support financing strategies tied to equipment production, inventory management, and customer deployments
• Evaluate ROI on capital expenditures and large-scale initiatives
Operational Finance
• Partner with Operations and Manufacturing to analyze cost per unit (materials, labor, logistics), improve margins through process efficiency, and identify waste and cost reduction opportunities
• Build financial linkage between assembly shop performance, field deployment costs, and service and support operations
Systems, Process & Controls
• Establish scalable financial systems, processes, and internal controls
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and all regulatory requirements
• Improve financial workflows across ERP and other accounting & reporting systems
• Lead audit processes and ensure clean, reliable financial data
Team Leadership & Accountability
• Lead and develop the finance and accounting team
• Establish a high-performance culture focused on ownership, accuracy, and speed
• Implement clear KPIs and reporting rhythms for the finance function
• Serve as a cross-functional leader working closely with Operations, Sales, Engineering, and Executive Leadership
—— WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE ——
• Financial reporting is clean, timely, and actionable
• Leadership has real-time visibility into business performance
• Budgeting and forecasting are accurate and actively used
• Clear understanding of true cost per unit and margin drivers
• Cash flow is predictable and well-managed
• Finance becomes a driver of decisions, not just a reporting function
